Avengers: Doomsday Trailer Update Delivers News Fans Didn’t Want

Marvel fans hoping for a quick public look at Avengers: Doomsday may need to hold on a little longer.

Despite recent online chatter suggesting that a new trailer would drop on Sunday, April 26, industry insiders are pushing back against that timeline. According to scooper Daniel Richtman, a trailer is indeed arriving “soon,” but no specific date has been locked in. He also pointed out that Sunday would be an unusual release day for Disney, noting that the studio “don’t usually release trailers over the weekend”.

Another well-known insider, @Cryptic4KQual, echoed the uncertainty about a Sunday debut but remains convinced that the wait won’t be long. He argued that it would make little sense for Marvel to screen a trailer for press and attendees at April’s CinemaCon in Las Vegas only to keep the general public waiting for two months. “The notion that it’s arriving in July has to be BS,” he stated.

For now, Marvel Studios is staying quiet. The studio kicked off its early Doomsday promotional tour with four trailers released in late 2025 and early January 2026, but no new public footage has emerged since then. A special trailer was shown at CinemaCon exclusively to convention-goers, and that version is not expected to be uploaded online for mass viewing.

When to Expect the First Public Trailer

With Avengers: Doomsday still about eight months away from its scheduled December 18, 2026 theatrical release, a public trailer could surface as early as May. Industry observers point to the weeks leading up to Lucasfilm’s The Mandalorian and Grogu (due in theaters May 22, 2026) as a logical window, since Disney distributes both that film and the Marvel franchise. Attaching the Doomsday trailer to another highly anticipated Disney release would be a natural marketing move.

When the first public trailer does arrive, it’s expected to differ significantly from the CinemaCon cut. That convention trailer reportedly featured multiple one-on-one matchups between Avengers and X‑Men characters. What many fans are most eager to see, however, is the first official look at Robert Downey Jr. as Victor Von Doom – a reveal that has not yet appeared in any publicly released footage.

As always, Marvel Studios is expected to carefully time its release to maintain momentum for what the company itself has touted as one of the biggest cinematic events in its 18‑year history.
